About us

We, Steen and Laila, have run Egense Strand Camping since 2005. We love the calm and friendly atmosphere that prevails both in the Egense area and at the campsite.

Our campers say they love how peaceful it is here. When they want more excitement, they simply take the ferry to the other side of the Limfjord to the town of Hals, which is bustling with tourism, good restaurants, tourist shops, and grocery stores. The crossing time is 5 minutes, and in the summer the ferry sails back and forth from morning until midnight.

We have around 110 pitches, all with electricity connections. There are hedges around the pitches, providing a bit of privacy. The caravans and motorhomes

Here, nature reigns – summer is mostly gentle nature and winter is more harsh nature.
In the summer, with light or no wind, we have the lovely, mild, and shallow east coast with calm waters and a beautiful and peaceful view over Kattegat and the Limfjord. The wide dike invites you to enjoy wonderful walks along the fjord, where large ships pass by on their way to and from Aalborg. Dogs love the trip along the Limfjord, where they can sniff the grass and reeds and paddle in the shallow water.
Here you can find, among other things, razor clams – they are good cooked on the grill or pan. You can collect your own razor clams when the tide is low. You can see small holes in the sand where air bubbles form on the surface. Down in those holes, the razor clams live. The way to lure them out is by sprinkling salt on the holes. They might think it’s high tide, either way, they come up.

At other times, nature is wilder, most often in the winter season. When the wind is strong and comes from the northwest, north, or northeast corner, you can sense the harshness of nature. It is also in winter that the tide is generally highest and has the greatest fluctuations, such as during storms. We almost every winter experience a winter storm where the road to the Hals-Egense ferry is filled with blown-up seaweed from the high waves or even flooded.
